INSTITUTE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

The Institute is a place of high learning with all the modern facilities. The college campus is situated in a clean and quiet atmosphere. The college developed its infrastructure based on its master plan. It has got 4 spacious and well ventilated class rooms for undergraduate teaching and well equipped seminar hall for post graduate presentations and classes. Facilities available are as follows:

Hospital

MGM Hospital and Medical Research centre which is 810 bedded multi speciality hospital  with the most sophisticated instrumentation and practicing the ultimate standard and latest medical practice, advantage being that, it is abreast with all latest advances in related fields. Hospital provides ultimate standard of latest medical practice, homely comfort, care and cure for patients.

Institute of Physiotherapy is attached with MGM Hospital and Research centre, the department of physiotherapy has highly qualified staff which is well equipped to meet the changing demands of training, where community physiotherapy are being practiced to benefit the disabled population. Physiotherapy department offers rehabilitation in all fields of specialties and separate outpatient departments for

• SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY with multi and therapeutic gymnasium
• Neurological and neurosurgical conditions with EMG, Biofeedback, EMG – NCV machine.
• Cardiac and pulmonary conditions with computerized spirometry  PFT with varies ICU’s (SICU/MICU/NICU)
• Neonatal and pediatric conditions with advanced neuro developmental programmes
• Community Based rehabilitation at various Primary health centers.

Out Patient Department (OPD)

The Outpatient physiotherapy department located in MGM Medical College Hospital is equipped with all modern facilities and functioning since 1996. The department caters to disabled & diseased and provides extensive clinical training for the physiotherapy students. This gives students A chance to apply their knowledge of clinical science in problem solving and therapeutic intervention. At Present, it is one of the best physiotherapy care provider in the Marathwada region with an array of speciality clinics.

 Laboratories

The Laboratories are designed to supreme functionality with modern, scientific equipments and models to provide learning experience at global standards for the students.

Library

Our Library and Information Resource Center (LIRC) is divided into two libraries, Central Library and College Library.

• Central library is located in the Medical college campus. The Central Library building on 4th floors measuring 7088 sq mts , out of which two rooms are Common roon discussion and Smart TV for discussion video, Image and PTT Presentation. Central Library is located near Physiotherapy College. The concept of central library helped students and teaching faculty members to access books of different subjects and departments under one roof. The central library functions 24/7, 365 days a year. The concept of 24/7 has helped students to study at their own leisure.
• College library is located in Physiotherapy College building on second floor. The College library helped students and teaching faculty members to access books, journals, research projects of different stream of Physiotherapy at one place.

The central library is located in campus with generator backup. The reading room of the Central Library is kept open 24/7.
• Established separate Library and Information Centre building with centralized AC.
• Procurement of new furniture for the Library i.e. open access book racks, circulation desk, reading tables, chairs, desktop etc.
• Many newly published books of renowned authors and various reference books have been added to library’s collection.
• Library has the internet facility through which students can assesses MUHS online, where online versions of various national and international journals is available. This has helped the teaching faculty and students to read the journal articles from their respective departments as all the computers are connected through LAN facility.
• Library has also subscribed the access to various journals like, Age & Ageing, Journal of Sports Science & Medicine, BMJ-Evidence based Mental Health, Journal of Clinical Neuromuscular disease Disability, CBR and Inclusive Development which has helped our students to gain access to subscribed Elsevier journals from the year 1995 till date.
• Library plans in near future to gain access to all the backdated journal volumes.

 Digital Library:

Facilities of E-mail Internet, retrieval of journals and text books and conferencing with other research and academic institutions are offered by ‘Digital Library’. Communication through Email, chat, Voice Message, Voice mail Browsing of World Web Online Journals which the College has subscribed, reference Books online, Journal Search, Practice Guidelines, Patients Education, Drug information is provided here.
